We RESPECT learning
We promote, develop and equip our children with the skills and attitudes to be successful life-long learners by encouraging them to be curious, resilient and reflective. Our children tell us that they learn best through experience so our curriculum is hands on, practical and makes the most of our local environment, including our village, local woods, canal, river and meadows.
We RESPECT people
Our curriculum is global and culturally rich. At Chalford Hill, we celebrate that everyone is unique and special. We help them to grow into happy, creative and confident people who are comfortable with who they are and their place in the community. We want them to respect and understand peoples’ uniqueness in their day to day lives and beyond. Everyone has a voice.
We RESPECT our World
Our children are taught to actively care for and respect our World. Our curriculum gives them a growing understanding of their place in the World from local to global and from past to present to future. Through rich, relevant and diverse experiences, our children are taught to be curious and to ask questions which allow them to explore and further their knowledge of the World.
Everything we do at Chalford Hill is underpinned by our motto "REACH".
Respect: We respect ourselves, others and everything around us by making good choices.
Effort: We take part and try our best in: school; our community and the wider world.
Achieve: We ask questions and work hard to achieve our goals and reach our potential.
Challenge: We look for ways to solve problems and improve even when we find things hard.
High Five: We celebrate ourselves and each other; building positive relationships.
