What we do:
It is our intention at Chalford Hill Primary School to build a curriculum that inspires all children to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities.
As a school, we provide opportunities for physical activity during lessons, break times, lunch times, school clubs, including sessions run by Atlas Sports and through competitions and festivals that we enter throughout the district and county. We are committed to quality provision of PE.
‘Real PE’ at Chalford Hill Primary School
Real PE believes in giving every child the physical literacy, emotional and thinking skills to achieve in PE, Sport and life. This too is a vision we at Chalford Hill Primary School believe in. Therefore we implement the Real PE scheme, a unique, child centred approach that transforms how we teach PE to include, challenge and support every child. This scheme of work develops the key abilities children need to be successful within PE and Sport and across the curriculum through six key cogs, these are: Creative, Cognitive, Health and Fitness, Personal, Physical and Social. It is fully aligned to the National Curriculum and Ofsted Requirements and focuses on the development of agility, balance and coordination, healthy competition and cooperative learning.
